  • One, two or more sections to facilitate installation and removal
  • Also available in metric sizes
  • Thermocouple holes, notches, irregular shaped holes and/or mounting holes
  • Single-phase or three-phase
  • Maximum voltage: 600V
  • Mica bands available in rectangular shapes
  • Termination types: screws, leads, terminal boxes, European plugs, internal connections
  • Etc

  • APPLICATIONS

  • Used primarily in the plastics industry (thermoforming, injection molding, extrusions)

TO ENSURE OPTIMAL USAGE FROM YOUR MICA BAND HEATER, WE RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING:

1- Determine the diameter as precisely as possible. A difference of ¼” in the diameter will result in a circumference of ¾” too much.

2- After several minutes of heating, retighten the screws once the cylinder has cooled. Repeat only if the operating temperature is substantially reduced.

3- Use several narrow bands (1 ½” to 3”) rather than only one large one. Experience has proven that the narrow bands will give you superior heat transfer efficiency plus extended heating life.

4- One piece bands cannot be used on a large diameter without slightly damaging the interior insulation. When the diameter is large, it is preferable to use a two section band heater.

5- The cylinder on which the band heater is installed must be clean. Also, plastic residue must not be allowed to accumulate.

  • Used as replacement cylinders on European equipment
  • Brass cylinders have a longer heating life than steel cylinders
  • Brass rather than steel ensures more efficient heat transfer
  • Sealed (very little contamination)
  • Density of up to 45 watts per sq. inch
  • Manufactured using wire capable of reaching 400 degrees C

  • APPLICATIONS

This type of heater is used in any applications where there are contaminants such as plastic residues, humid environment,…

Our in-stock inventory includes models of various sizes and strengths.
