TO ENSURE OPTIMAL USAGE FROM YOUR MICA BAND HEATER, WE RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING:
1- Determine the diameter as precisely as possible. A difference of ¼” in the diameter will result in a circumference of ¾” too much.
2- After several minutes of heating, retighten the screws once the cylinder has cooled. Repeat only if the operating temperature is substantially reduced.
3- Use several narrow bands (1 ½” to 3”) rather than only one large one. Experience has proven that the narrow bands will give you superior
heat transfer efficiency plus extended heating life.
4- One piece bands cannot be used on a large diameter without slightly damaging the interior insulation. When the diameter is large,
it is preferable to use a two section band heater.
5- The cylinder on which the band heater is installed must be clean. Also, plastic residue must not be allowed to accumulate.
