Insulated mica band heaters

Insulation = Energy savings

In order to meet our customers’ requirements, Volton has developed insulated mica band heaters. The insulated shroud installed on the mica band heaters permits lower energy consumption, resulting in lower production costs.

With insulated shrouds, there is less heat loss, so your band heaters work less often, resulting in fewer kilowatt hours.

Also, insulated shrouds have the further advantage of prolonging the life of heating elements, meaning a reduction of your band heater requirements and reducing the number of interruptions in production. The insulated shroud gives an added protection to your heater band by preventing contamination by the plastic.

The ceramic fibre in the insulated shroud should be between 1/4" to 1/2" thick for optimum results.
