Designed for very high temperatures (2150°F, 1177°C)
nickel-chrome or Kanthal A-1 rods
Rods up to 12’ long
Exterior diameter of the ceramics: 3 to 9"
Operates at low voltage & high current
APPLICATIONS
Bayonet resistance heaters can be found in furnaces and are generally used in thermal applications.
Other types of applications:
Heating of metallic plates
Metal aging
Metal hardening
Incineration of industrial and medical products
Over the years, Volton has developed bayonet heaters in accordance with our customers’ requirements. The bayonets can be installed
horizontally or vertically in all types of ovens, for heating air or in a containment vessel when used in a corrosive environment.
Volton manufactures and repairs power resistors as per your specifications. They are mounted on a ceramic core, designed to dissipate the heat efficiently.
APPLICATIONS
Dynamic breaking
Load banks
Motor starting & control
Off-highway braking
Harmonic filter
Neutral grounding
Damping resistors
Standard diameters : 1.25", 2". (other available diameters)
Coiled nickel-chrome wire
Stainless steel rod passing through a ceramic cylinder
Voltage: 24 to 600V
Single or three phase
Terminal screws or beaded leads
Options: Cold sections, special ends, uniform heating
APPLICATIONS
Water heaters
Steam cabinets
Drying ovens
Industrial deep fryers
Calenders
Cylinder type resistance heaters can be installed for heating air but are mostly inserted in a tube (airtight / watertight / dustproof) to heat liquids or conserve gases.
We manufacture and repair cylinder type resistance heaters to your specifications.
The coil functions by convection or radiation and can reach temperatures of 800°C to 1000°C under very specific conditions.
SPECIFICATIONS
Nickel chrome coiled wire or Kanthal A-1
Refractory ceramic plates with grooves or channels
Possibility of multiple zones
Maximum 40 watts /in²
Insulating fibre
2 lead exit
Space alloted for thermocouple, optional
Can be installed horizontally or vertically
Maximum temperature 2200°F/1204°C
APPLICATIONS
For air heating of:
Ovens
Furnaces
Sterilizers
Tunnels
Volton has extensive experience in repairing and manufacturing of custom refractory ceramic plates.
Our plates are an excellent choice for applications requiring neither convection nor conduction.
INFRARED QUARTZ TUBE HEATERS
DESCRIPTION (for horizontal installation only)
Helically wound resistance nickel chrome wire in a translucent quartz tube operating between 700 & 1300°C
Wavelength ranging from 1.4 to 3µm
Exterior diameter 3/8", 1/2"(other diameters also available)
Length up to 102"
Screw or lead terminals
Ceramic high temperature end caps
APPLICATIONS
Generally used in the drying of paper, ink, paint, varnish or for dehydrating food products or plants.
Infrared quart tube heaters are moisture resistant. They are known for their rapid heating and cooling and are very easy to use. They have excellent homogeneous emissions allowing them to function at short distances from the product to be treated.
Repairs
Volton repairs infrared quartz tube heaters by changing the resistance, the quartz tubes and the endings if necessary.
COIL HEATERS
Nickel-chrome
May be straight or flat. A flat coil ensures better heat transfer
Mini coil heaters also available
120, 230 & 240 V
Choice of lengths of heated and unheated zones
OPTIONS
Type J or K integrated thermocouples (available for the majority of standard coiled heaters)
Ground leads
Clamping bands (for mini coil heaters)
Teflon leads are standard
Protection such as braided metal sleeving & armor cable are available on request
APPLICATIONS
Heating of metallic plates
Packaging industry
Medical equipment
Plastic processing
Hot melt applications
