Features

Our coil heaters, also known as nozzles, are designed to reach high temperatures on a reduced surface area through direct contact on parts with various shapes. Easy to install and uninstall, the spiral elements are perfectly sealed. Discover their characteristics, options, and detailed applications below.

General Characteristics

Materials and Shapes

  • Nickel-chrome coil in an Incoloy sheath (standard); also available in brass
  • The coil can be round or flat (a flat coil ensures better heat transfer)
  • Mini flat or round spiral elements are also available

 

Electrical Specifications and Dimensions

  • Voltage: 120V to 600V single-phase
  • Choice of lengths for heated and non-heated zones
  • Wires with Teflon (standard) or fiberglass sheath

 

Options

  • Integrated Type J or K thermocouple
  • Stainless steel clamp (offered on mini spiral elements)
  • Grounding wire
  • Stainless steel braided protective sheath, metal armor, or fiberglass sheath
  • The element can be manufactured "flat" and then shaped directly on your installations

Tips

1. Do not fold any area already folded and do not force the shaft into a bent position (cold part of the element).

2. A new straight fold needs to have a minimum ¼" radius (Folding too squarely could damage or break the element).

3. The coil heater needs to be positioned in perfect contact metal against metal with the part to be heated to avoid any air pockets that could easily burn the element.
